One day course : Construction of a card shade using lampshade rings, PVC backing and variety of fabrics to cover the shade with. This course covers variety of lampshade styles, decorative methods and embellishments.
Two day course: Construction of a tailored, lined shade by stretching the top fabric over the frame and lining the shade. This course covers variety of lampshade styles ,decorative methods and embellishments.

Cushion Making
In this workshop students will learn how to construct an square cushion with zip and piping. Variety of decorative techniques such as beading, hand stitched appliqué, fabric pleating, trims and braids will be discussed. End of this workshop you will be able to adapt your new skills to produce a wide range of other exciting designs in the future.

Roman Blind
This workshop will offer the students the chance to learn the basic techniques to make an half-width lined Roman Blind. A variety of subjects will be covered including how to take detailed measurements of a window, fabric estimation, pattern matching, basic stitches and different types of window treatments and fabric.

Curtain Making
This two days course will provide you with step by step instructions and techniques to make an half width interlined pencil pleat headed curtain and a full width triple pleat valance. Following subjects are covered: Window measurement, Fabric estimation, Pattern matching, Basic stitches, and Handmade Headings.

Beginners Upholstery
During this two day workshop students will learn the basic skills necessary to undertake both modern and traditional upholstery projects.
Modern upholstery: On the first day students will learn how to upholster a drop in seat chair with foam using modern upholstery techniques.( Webbing, Hessian, foam, calico, polyester , main top fabric).
Traditional upholstery: On the second day students will learn how to upholster a drop in seat chair with hair/fibre using traditional upholstery techniques. ( Webbing, Hessian, twine, hair/fibre, wadding, calico, polyester, main top fabric)
Students are usually asked to bring two chairs with drop in seats. (Place your hand underneath the chair seat and push. If it pops out it’s a drop in seat. Dining chairs are usually of this type).

All our courses are run on a private one to one tuition basis seven days a week. Group of twos can also be booked for all of our courses. To book a course please call or email us to arrange an convenient date.
All materials are included in the course fee. Our workshops are run from 9.30am to 3.30pm with a light lunch served at midday.
